In the midst of many priest moves being announced, we’ll be hearing things like, “It’s about Jesus! Not the priest!” and that’s true enough. Just Google “Ex Opere Operato” and you’ll see why.
But while our life in the parish is not about the priest…it’s also a little bit about the priest. When you feel like you have a connection to the priest, when you feel like he’s a person who understands you and joins you in your human struggles, the spiritual life becomes much more relatable and real.
