This is the personal blog of Deacon Ryan Adorjan, seminarian for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Joliet-in-Illinois. He is currently pursuing graduate studies in theology at the University of St. Mary of the Lake – Mundelein Seminary in the Archdiocese of Chicago. He was ordained to the Order of Deacon on April 21, 2017 and will be ordained to the Sacred Order of Priesthood in May 2018 at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus in Joliet, Illinois.
Deacon Ryan is a frequent speaker at parish and youth events in his home diocese and around the country. He was a featured speaker at the 2012 Diocese of Charlotte Eucharistic Congress. His work in the new evangelization with new media, including the founding of VianneyMedia – a social media apostolate – was recently featured on EWTN’s “Life on the Rock.” Ryan has developed three parish missions: “Become an Evangelist”, “The Theory of Everything”, and new for Advent 2016: “Born in Wonder – Welcoming the Christ.” In September 2015, he was a delegate to the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia.
Deacon Ryan is also an actor in musical theater, is an avid singer and trombone player, enjoys the occasional frisbee game, and spending time reading and writing.
