Hi everyone;
I had the priviledge to have Mass tonight with some people from St. Jude’s in New Lenox. The group was a lot smaller than I expected it to be, but I still got a chance to do a holy hour with the Lord in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
I was tired and a little cranky during Mass since it didn’t even start until after 8pm and I’ve been cranky all day and was kind of just looking forward to getting out of there……..we’re all a little negative sometimes.
Anyway, I went up to receive Holy Communion and it was one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had with the Eucharist. I sat in my place the entire Mass thinking “why the heck am I here? I want to sleep!” and as soon as I received the Eucharist, I heard “For Me.”
I was not at Mass for me, not tonight and not ever; nobody ever is. The very words of the Mass give us the reason for what we’re doing” “Do this in memory of Me.” We are there to worship Jesus who gave his life for us and to do all in His memory.
Jesus instructed us that we must remember Him and die for Him. What a wonderful task it is to be able to die for Him who died for us.
In Christ,
RA
This is touching…thank you!
