Homily for the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

The quotes I was reading are from Fire of Mercy, Heart of the Word: Meditations on the Gospel on Matthew, Vol. 4 by Erasmo Leiva-Merikakis published in 2021 by Ignatius Press.

“The Christian vocation always produces a mission, that is, a sending, as its natural fruit, since the Christian vocation consists above all in communicating the life, the truth, and the commandments that have been received personally from Jesus.” (640)

“It is thus both fitting and necessary that this final encounter be solitary, intimate, exclusive. What the apostles are to hand on to the world is not a set of abstract and static ideas, but, rather, something analogous to a vulnerable, newborn child.” (640)
